LeYoni Junos

LeYoni Junos hails from a long line of proud Bermudians who have inhabited Spanish Point for over 200 years. She is the former director of Amnesty International – Bermuda and has served as the Human Rights Commissioner and Administrator of the African Diaspora Heritage Trail.

LeYoni is an advocate for judicial reform and a founding member of the Civil Justice Advocacy

Group. Her work has earned her recognition as a McKenzie Friend, assisting with cases in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals in Bermuda.  She studies Bermuda’s continuing status as an Overseas Territory with a special focus on international human rights law.

She is an assiduous activist and independent thinker who holds public bodies accountable and stands firmly in search for transparent governance and service. 

LeYoni Junos is the FDM candidate for Constituency #19, Pembroke West.

Who We Are

The Free Democratic Movement (FDM) was consummated on September 1, 2020, as a direct response to the loud cries from the people of Bermuda for genuine leadership, understanding and representation.
